Project Description:

It's one thing to learn how to calculate speed but to collect data and then calculate it makes the learning real. Using a Makey Makey and Hotwheels students are given the opportunity to create their own timing gates to collect data.  Best engineered timing gate is then used by the class to collect data for data collection activity.

Extension:

Hotwheels is the only way I have applied it so far, but it can be done using pressure plates and students or student-made cars.
