Makey Makey Play-Doh piano and Bongos with Kindergarten and 1st grade

Project Description:

Students work in small groups to create geometric shapes out of Play-Doh that then are attached to a Makey Makey.  Students then using their body to complete the electrical circuit triggering the Makey Makey to play either the Piano or Bongos.

Integration:

Math:

Students are challenged to create geometric shapes and are required to describe each shape they made prior to getting to connect Makey Makey and play the online instrument.

Science:

The class uses PHET online interactive circuits to learn how the Makey Makey works and investigate electrical circuits.

Engineering:

Students, with help, attach Makey Makey to Play-Doh shapes engineering electrical circuits.
