Overview:

Students abilities and knowledge are continued to be developed through proper typing technique and use of home row keys.  Using a website entitled Typing Club student continue the development of their typing skills with a focus on using home row keys rather than just pecking at the keyboard. Students will create a project targeted for this specific grade with the goal of supporting content being taught in the regular education class.

 

Project:

Students in small groups will fill out a Mad Lib story and then create the story in 3D.  This will be paired with a tool called an Ozobot.  The Ozobot is a basic computer programming robot that follows lines and reacts to series of colored lines.  Students then narrate the story as it is filmed bringing the story to life.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Integration:

Students use their gained knowledge on parts of a story to create a story map for their project, a coded story using the Ozobots, and the design process to create the setting of the story.  Through this students see stories from another angle.  Often students only dissect stories written by another this time students develop a story while learning a computer science skill, computer coding.
